KENNEWICK, Wash. – The REACH Museum is turning ten years old this month and is holding a month-long celebration in July with free days on July 16, 23 and 30.
The museum has exhibits ranging from wildlife to the Manhattan Project for the community to learn about. It’s also holding free days for the anniversary celebration.
Pauline Schafer, the Education Manager at the REACH, said it’s your one-stop shop for everything Tri-Cities. One exhibit is called the Living Land. Schafer said the gallery shows all the seasons that circle the person inside it.
Schafer said they’ve outgrown the building and are looking to expand. They hope to get the community together and raise funds for a STEM building.
Schafer said she’s been working at REACH since 2016, and to this day, her favorite part of the job is seeing students’ faces when they enter the building, look at the exhibits, and learn about our area. One program she says they have is called the Little Explorers who meet every other Thursday.
“Little Explorers is a special time for the preschool children and their families to come and learn how to explore in a museum,” said Schafer. “To learn about some of our stories. We often explore both inside and outside at Little Explorers.”
The REACH is open five days a week from 10 to 4:30 in the evening.
