Michelle Pfeiffer will star in the next Yellowstone spinoff, The Madison, formerly titled 2024, and Suits actor Patrick J. Adams and The Good Doctor and Firefly Lane alum Beau Garrett join her as leads, with newcomer Elle Chapman also added to the mix.
Paramount previously confirmed that The Madison and 2024 will not be two separate series as had been rumored.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions, The Madison is the next installment from the Yellowstone universe and Taylor Sheridan. Pfeiffer will star and executive produce. The series is set in the modern day.
Kurt Russell has also been rumored to be attached to the series, though that casting still remains speculation. Here’s the latest on the new series.
What is Yellowstone‘s The Madison about?
Paramount describes The Madison as a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios when her casting was announced. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
The Madison is executive produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, and Keith Cox. Previous reports about Pfeiffer’s reported character name were not confirmed with today’s announcement.

Yellowstone‘s The Madison Cast
The Madison reportedly centers Stacy Clyburn (presumably Pfeiffer’s role), who moves her family out to Montana from New York City after her husband and brother-in-law are killed in a plane crash.
Chapman and Garrett play Pfeiffer’s two daughters, Paige McIntosh and Abigail Reese, respectively, according to Deadline. Adams plays Russell McIntosh, Paige’s husband.
Paige and Russell are described as “a somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband, Russell McIntosh, who has followed the life path set before him from the start.”
Garrett’s Abigail is described as “a resilient and sardonic New Yorker, who is a recently divorced mother of two.”
The Madison is Chapman’s TV debut. Her film debut was in a scene in A Man Called Otto opposite Tom Hanks.
Yellowstone‘s The Madison Premiere Date
Paramount did not announce a premiere date on August 8 nor did it give an update on when production will begin, but production on The Madison is reportedly beginning in later in August 2024 in Montana, NYC, and Texas (1923 Season 2 is currently filming in Austin).
TVLine reports that it could premiere in 2025 after Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2, its final season, finishes airing on Paramount Network. Season 5 Part 2 is currently in production in Montana and will premiere Sunday, November 10 at 9/8c.
Will Yellowstone‘s Original Cast Be in The Madison?
2024 got a series order in Fall 2023 from Paramount and was reportedly going to feature appearances from original Yellowstone cast members Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Luke Grimes. Matthew McConaughey was attached to star. There is no update on whether or not Reilly, Hauser, and Grimes will appear in 2024 or The Madison.
