Teenager detained on suspicion of reckless driving after high-speed chase in Pasco

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash.-A teenager was detained on suspicion of reckless driving after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase on Aug. 11.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies saw the car going over 100 miles per hour on I-182 and followed the 17-year-old driver, but lost them near Road 100 as they went east on Welsh Drive, according to the FCSO.

Pasco Police responded to the area and helped FCSO Deputies find the car, however, when they tried to stop the suspect, the driver drove away north on Road 68 and turned off their headlights.

The driver went through a field to get away and was later found in a different field off of Brewster Lane.

According to the FCSO, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of reckless driving, reckless endangerment and attempting to elude a police officer.

A 15-year-old passenger in the car was released to her father.
