Teen shot in Yakima in critical condition, suspect arrested

YAKIMA, Wash. – A 17-year-old male shot in Yakima on the evening of June 24 remains in critical condition in a Seattle area hospital, according to the Yakima Police Department.

YPD says at around 7:10 p.m., several reports came in of gunshots in the area of 2200 W. Nob Hill Blvd. Officers found a juvenile with a gunshot wound, who was brought to Yakima Valley MultiCare with life-threatening injuries.

The alleged shooter, a 21-year-old male, was found in the area by police and arrested on suspicion of assault in the 1st degree, according to YPD

An investigation is ongoing and witnesses are asked to call 509-575-6200 and contact the YPD Major Crimes Unit.
