YAKIMA, Wash. – A teen was booked into the Yakima Juvenile Justice Center on Thursday after allegedly firing a gun while a landlord attempted to serve an eviction notice.

Yakima Police Department’s Yvette Inzunza says at around 11:30 a.m., a landlord was attempting to serve an eviction notice at a home in the 1500 block of Folsom Avenue.

In response, the teen allegedly fired a gun twice then ran about a block away to a relative’s house. They were later taken into custody without incident.

Inzunza says no one was injured and YPD is investigating. It is unknown if the teen was home alone or if he shot at the landlord.

Traffic was temporarily affected at the intersection of Folsom Avenue and North 6th Avenue. It has since been reopened.
