RICHLAND, Wash. -UPDATE. Jan. 10.-The Special Olympics Washington Tri-Cities Polar Plunge scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13, has been postponed due to the frigid temperatures forecasted for the weekend.
According to event organizers, the plunge was rescheduled for the safety of participants, volunteers and attendees.
The Polar Plunge has been rescheduled for March. 16 at 9 a.m. at Columbia Point Marina Park Riverfront Trail in Richland.

The yearly Polar Plunge is set for Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Columbia Point Marina Park.
Participants are invited to take the plunge into the Columbia River to support Special Olympics Washington.
Anyone can register individually or to a team. Registrants are required to raise a minimum of $50 after the $25 registration fee. Special Olympics athletes can register for free and receive a shirt after raising $25.
Several local businesses and organizations have already created teams that anyone can join, including the SportsPage Bar and The Arc of Tri-Cities.
