KENNEWICK, Wash. – A 34-year-old man was arrested in Kennewick for domestic assault early Friday morning, according to the Kennewick Police Department.
KPD says crews were called to the 3800 block of South Newport Street for a report of domestic assault. An investigation found probable cause to arrest the man, who was last seen running into a home.
Further investigation found that the suspect had prior felony convictions from California and potentially had access to weapons. The Tri-Cities Regional Swat Team was called to help clear the home which was empty.
However, a SWAT officer spotted the suspect walking nearby. The man was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Benton County Jail for fourth-degree assault.
No one was injured in the incident, per KPD.
