Suspected DUI driver arrested after chase that reached speeds over 100 mph in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash.-One person is in custody, suspected of multiple charges, including eluding and DUI after a traffic incident on Nov. 16.

The incident started when a Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy clocked the suspect going 102 miles per hour on Taylor Flats Road near Honeysuckle Road.

The Deputy tried to stop the suspect, however, the suspect turned off their car lights and disappeared near Birch Road and West Sagemoor Road, according to the FCSO.

Another Deputy in the area noticed a suspicious vehicle with heavy damage in a yard near the intersection of Birch and Sagemoor and reportedly saw the male suspect running from the car toward a nearby vineyard.

The suspected driver was eventually taken into custody without incident and a breath sample confirmed he was intoxicated.

According to the FCSO, the driver is suspected of attempting to elude police, driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and hit-and-run.
