Suspect in custody after high-speed chase, shooting in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. -A suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase and shooting in downtown Yakima on the afternoon of Nov. 14.

Yakima Avenue is closed near Third Avenue in Downtown Yakima due to police activity. NonStop Local has a reporter on the way for more information.

Yakima Police ask the public to stay out of the area of Yakima Avenue from 5th Avenue to 3rd Avenue.

According to Yvette Inzunza with YPD, the suspect fired at YPD, but no one was hit and officers did not fire back.

One person has been transported to the hospital after being hit by a stolen car driven by the suspec in the area, according to YPD.

The suspect was also transported to the hospital for what are considered to be non-life threatening injuries.
