Suspect arrested after SWAT standoff in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. – UPDATE 10:30 P.M.

According to Public Information Officer Brady Volland with KPD, the suspect has been taken into custody and the situation is resolved.

ORIGINAL COVERAGE:

Tri-City Regional SWAT units are responding to the 2800 block of South Hartford Place attempting to arrest a suspect following an order violation in progress.

According to Sgt. Stephen Wolosin with KPD, this is an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the public. Residents in the area have been advised of the situation.

The suspect is under arrest for domestic violence charges, according to Wolosin.

According to a Facebook post from the Kennewick Police Department, the victim is safe but the male suspect is refusing to leave the house.

Roads in the area have been blocked off in response to the situation. Avoid the area of South Jean St and West 29th Place.
