YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.-A 69-year-old Sunnyside man charged with child molestation and communicating with minors for immoral purposes was arrested on Oct. 18.

Timothy Bardell reportedly admitted to molesting four girls ranging in age from infants to toddlers between 2018 and 2024.

According to court documents, Bardell is now facing charges of first degree child molestation and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

The investigation began in July when Bardell’s son-in-law reported suspicions he had about his actions toward his granddaughter.

According to probable cause documents from Yakima County Superior Court, it is believed Bardell was “grooming” the six-year-old by exposing himself to her.

Bardell reportedly wrote a letter admitting and describing his actions, including exposing himself to the young girls and inappropriately touching them while changing their diapers.

Bail was set at $50,000, which Bardell posted on Oct. 21, according to court documents. His arraignment is set for Nov. 4.
