SUNNYSIDE, Wash.-The Financial Manager for the city of Sunnyside has been dismissed following a $4 million budget shortfall.
New Sunnyside City Manager Mike Gonzalez dismissed Jamison Horner from her position on Monday, Aug. 26.
Her dismissal is effective immediately and Finance Supervisor Faviola Gil will assume the role on an interim basis, according to a City of Sunnyside press release.
“I am already working to find a qualified Finance Director,” said Gonzalez. “It is a critical role in our organization. Council is aware of the decision I have made. I will keep them and the public informed of every step moving forward.”
Gonzalez informed the City Council of a potential $4 million budget deficit on Saturday, Aug. 24, following an investigation into the budget.
