SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – A two-car crash in Sunnyside sent five people to the hospital Friday evening, according to Yakima County Fire District 5.
Firefighter Vanessa Loera says the crash happened around 8 p.m. in the intersection of Northwest Crescent Avenue and Swan Road.
Two cars, one travelling eastbound on Northwest Crescent Avenue with two people inside and the other travelling southbound on Swan Road with four people inside, hit at the intersection.
Of the six people involved, five were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The other did not need transport to a local hospital.
The crash temporarily blocked the east side of North Crescent Avenue, however the road has reopened since.
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the crash, according to Loera.
