KENNEWICK, Wash.-Fire crews responded to a fire on South Gum Street and East 1st on the morning of July 31.
According to Tim Harkins, Kennewick Fire Department Battalion Chief, the fire started in a homeless encampment and spread to the north side of the tracks.
Some storage units were damaged in the fire, according to Battalion Chief Harkins, however, no injuries were reported and the fire was put out by 9:40 a.m.
Fire crews are expected to remain on scene for another hour to an hour and a half mopping up.
