OLYMPIA, Wash.-The Washington State Board of Education is looking for a Student Representative for the 2024-2026 term.
The student must be a current sophomore anywhere in Washington, applications are available online and must be completed by March 29.
“You have the best support and very kind people to support you along the way,” said current Senior Student Board Representative, Donalda Brantley of her experience as a member. “Remember you are there to share your voice and what you have to say truly matters.”
The Student Representative will represent students across the state and work to influence policy and make a difference in education in Washington State, according to a State Board of Education press release.
Student Representative qualifications:
Reside in Washington and attend a public or private school in the state during the 2024-26 school term.Be a current sophomore at the time of selection.Be passionate about improving K-12 education.Be able to devote the necessary time to the responsibilities to the board, including attending all board meetings.Have a positive academic and/or extracurricular record.Commit to making up missed school work due to meetings and board functions.
