YAKIMA, Wash.-Is one of your resolutions to read more in the New Year? Yakima Valley Libraries Winter Reading Challenge Kicks off Jan. 1.

The Annual Winter Reading Challenge is a call to the community to join their local libraries and spend time reading together, according to YVL.

The challenge is open to all ages and participants can read books in 16 different categories while playing a virtual bingo game.

“We’re excited to enhance our traditional Winter Reading Challenge this year by adding Beanstack! Now, it’s even easier for the whole family to track and log their reading, with prizes to earn while enjoying great books together this January!” said Sully Gama, Community Engagement & Impact Manager with YVL.

YVL customers can download the Beanstack app to track their reading and access the Winter Reading Bingo Challenge.

According to the YVL, those who participate in the reading challenge may also enter into drawings for prizes, including a squishmallow, board book and $15 gift cards to Amazon, Target, Walmart and more.

The full rules and prize information for YVL’s Winter Reading Bingo are available online.
