KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. – A fire closed SR 821 in both directions between Yakima and Ellensburg, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The Selah Fire Department calls the fire the Selah Butte Fire.
Department of Natural Resources Public Information Officer Ryan Rodruck says the fire is 200 acres in size.
WSDOT says the road is closed southbound from Thrall Road and northbound from the Sundown M Ranch.
There is currently no estimated time for reopening. Drivers are asked to use I-82 to get to and from Yakima and Ellensburg.
