WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The southbound lanes of SR 125 were blocked due to a deadly crash on Wednesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

WSP Trooper Chris Thorson says the two-car crash happened at the intersection of Southeast Commercial Drive and SR 125 at around 10 a.m.

A press memo from WSP says a driver was heading northbound on SR 125 when they crossed into the southbound lane and crashed into Alexis Delatorre, 23, of Walla Walla.

Delatorre was killed in the crash and next of kin have been notified. The suspect driver was brought to a hospital in Walla Walla with charges pending.

Thorson says southbound SR 125 was closed but was reopened at 3:30 p.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
