Snowplow hit by car on US 14 near Dayton, Wyoming

DAYTON, Wyo. – A snowplow was hit by a car on US 14 west of Dayton on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. at milepost 78.5.

The crash happened when the driver of a Honda CRV lost control while heading east and collided with a Wyoming Department of Transportation snowplow. The snowplow was performing a shoulder cut on the westbound lane at the time of the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Honda sustained minor injuries, while the snowplow driver was unharmed. However, the plow’s blade suffered major damage and will be totaled.

The driver of the Honda was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation urges drivers to exercise caution in winter weather. They advise checking road conditions before traveling, driving at appropriate speeds, and being vigilant for snowplows.
