KELLOGG, Idaho – Silver Mountain says it will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 8 following a deadly avalanche in the ski area on Tuesday.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we process yesterday’s events,” Silver Mountain wrote in a post.
The avalanche occurred Tuesday around 11 a.m. in the Wardner Peak area, trapping several people. Seven people were recovered, but two of them tragically have passed away.
