Shooting suspect from Walla Walla Circle K turns himself in, charged with murder

WALLA WALLA, Wash.- UPDATE. APRIL 20. Yahir Rafael Melgoza, the man suspected of shooting a 20-year old at a Circle K in Walla Walla on April 8 has been charged with murder.

According to court documents Rafael Melgoza has been charged with 2nd degree murder (intent to cause death), drive-by shooting, a pistol possession violation and carrying a concealed pistol with no license.

His arraignment is set for May 1. Bond has been set at $250,000 according to court documents.

The 19-year-old man accused of shooting a 20-year-old at a Circle K in Walla Walla has turned himself in.

Yahir Rafael Melgoza turned himself in on April 14 after the events that transpired on April 8.

Detectives found probable cause to arrest Rafael Melgoza after he fled the scene after shooting the victim after an altercation.

Rafael Melgoza is facing charges of assault 1, drive-by shooting, minor in possession of a pistol and carrying a concealed pistol without a permit.

He has been booked into the Walla Walla County Jail as the investigation remains open.
