Service Peace Warriors gets Local Heroes Grant

ELTOPIA, Wash.-Service Peace Warriors, an organization that trains service dogs for veterans in Washington, was awarded a Gesa Local Heroes Grant to help the organization raise and train service dogs.

Service Peace Warriors will be getting $49, 892.50 from Gesa Credit Union

“We are inspired by the remarkable efforts of Service Peace Warriors that continue to make a positive and lasting impact, and we’re thrilled to honor their work with our Local Heroes Grant award today,” said Don Miller, President and CEO of Gesa Credit Union.

According to Service Peace Warriors, the funding will be used to provide puppy raiser kits (Kennels, lead, leashes & food) and to provide all the equipment for 7 service dog teams ( Veteran and service dog).

The grant will also allow SPW to provide food, kennel supplies, toys treats and cleaning supplies for an additional 7 service dogs that are currently in vested training.

“It’s an honor to be able to give back to those who have served and sacrificed so much for family, God, and country,” SPW said in a statement announcing the grant. “We want to thank the Gesa Community Foundation for helping support us in this mission.”
