Series of walking tours to highlight history of Yakima’s Tahoma Cemetery this fall

YAKIMA, Wash.-The community is invited to a series of free walking tours of Tahoma Cemetery this fall.

The guided tours will showcase the history of the cemetery and the stories of some of the people buried there, including historic teachers, wild lives and veterans, according to the City of Yakima.

The tours are free, however, space is limited to 25 participants for each tour that will start at the Mausoleum in the cemetery. Registration for the tours is now open through Yakima Parks.

Sept. 28: 4 p.m. Historic teachers and educators.Sept. 29: 4 p.m. Historic teachers and educators.Oct. 26: 3 p.m. Wild lives and the mayhem surrounding them.Oct. 27: 3 p.m. Wild lives and the mayhem surrounding them.Nov. 9: 1 p.m. Veterans.

Tahoma Cemetery is located at 1802 Tahoma Avenue in Yakima.
