SUNNYSIDE, Wash.-Empowering Latina Leadership and Action is inviting the community to a series of listening sessions to address environmental issues and the visions and goals for health and justice in the lower Yakima Valley.
ELLA will hold listening sessions concerning environmental issues that impact lower Yakima Valley communities in Mabton, Grandview and Sunnyside Nov. 19-21.
Issues such as water contamination and air quality will be discussed at the listening sessions and community members will have the opportunity to share their experiences and voice concerns.
According to ELLA, the listening sessions are a time for the community to come together and work to shape the future one step at a time.
The listening sessions will include free food, a presentation on environmental issues and discussion. Spanish and English translations will be available and free childcare will be provided.

Mabton: Nov. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mabton Junior/Sr High.Sunnyside: Nov. 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Gusto Casa Mia.Grandview: Nov. 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the District Learning Center.
