KENNEWICK, Wash. – A semi truck transporting scrap metal tipped over onto its side when getting off the SR 240 overpass onto Columbia Center Boulevard in Kennewick.
Richland Police Department Sergeant Todd Sharpe says at 6:52 p.m., the truck was getting off the highway ramp and spilled 40,000 to 50,000 pounds of steel onto the southbound lanes of Columbia Center Boulevard near the Circle K.
Crews are working on removing the metal and getting the truck back up. No one was injured in the rollover.
Sharpe says the lanes will be reopened in three to four hours.
