TOPPENISH, Wash.-Seattle University’s School of Law and Heritage University are partnering on a “Hybrid Hub” to help students in Central Washington pursue law degrees.

The hub will allow students in the Yakima Valley, especially those with work and family commitments, to complete law school and address the need for legal professionals in underserved regions without enough lawyers, according to a joint Heritage/Seattle University press release.

“The opening of this new Hybrid Hub at Heritage University marks a significant milestone in Seattle University School of Law’s ongoing efforts to make legal education more accessible and to cultivate a new generation of diverse legal professionals in underserved areas,” said Seattle U Law Dean Anthony E. Varona.

The hub at Heritage will allow students to study in an academic setting while utilizing campus technology and resources, while also providing a pathway to study law, pass the bar exam and practice law locally, according to today’s press release.

A memorandum of understanding to establish the hub will be signed by both Seattle U Law and Heritage University on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. in the Barnhill Fireside Room, located in the Gaye and Jim Pigott Commons at Heritage.

“We welcome the hybrid hub as a catalyst for cultivating homegrown legal talent and expertise,” said Heritage University President Dr. Andrew Sund.
