SEATTLE, Wash.-Kroger and Albertsons released a list of 124 stores throughout the state, including five in Central and Eastern Washington, that would be divested as part of the planned merger of the grocery giants.

Kroger and Albertsons first announced their potential merger in 2022 and have faced legal challenges since.
In January, the Washington Attorney General’s Office filed an antitrust lawsuit against the proposed merger, alleging it would create a monopoly and limit options for consumers.
A King County judge ruled the antitrust lawsuit could proceed in April and a trial is set to begin in September.
