SELAH, Wash.- Russell Carlson was named the recipient of the 2023 Leadership on Main award for his longtime commitment to the Selah community.
Russ has been a member of the Selah City Council for eight years. As a City Council member, he has facilitated projects and set policies for the betterment of Selah.
After joining the Selah City Council Russ was asked to fill a vacant position as a council liaison on the Selah Downtown Association (SDA).
Russ continues to dedicate himself to the city of Selah by joining all committees associated with the SDA.
“Russ cares deeply about his community and is always looking for ways to serve and lead,” stated Washington Main Street Director Breanne Durham at the Excellence on Main ceremony. “Selah is undoubtedly a better place thanks to Russ’ care and commitment.”
The Washington State Main Street Program includes more than 70 towns and cities across the state.
Every year the Washington State Main Street Program hosts an award ceremony to honor those making a difference in their community.
The Leadership on Main Award is given to an individual who shows dedication to their community over a significant period of time.
Russell Carlson was the 2023 Leadership on Main recipient.
