RICHLAND, Wash.- Ron Montgomery a 43-year-old man from Richland has been sentenced to 51 months in prison to be followed by five years or supervised release for selling pills laced with fentanyl.
According to court documents, after a man died of a fentanyl overdose in July of 2018 investigators were led to Montgomery.
Montgomery and one other were identified as the responsible parties who sold the pills to the man who died according to court documents.
The man who was working with Montgomery was sentenced in March of 2023.
According to court documents, Montgomery was placed under surveillance for several months. Based on what was found during the surveillance period a search warrant was granted.
Investigators executed a search warrant and found fentanyl-laced pills and firearms in Montgomery’s home.
Montgomery has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl that resulted in death.
