GRANDVIEW, Wash. – A Richland man was allegedly shot and killed by his daughter’s ex-boyfriend in Grandview on July 3, according to a press release from the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
YCSO says deputies were called to the 100 block of Bridgeview Road for reports of a man who was shot. Despite deputies performing life-saving measures, the man, 45-year-old Mariano Garcia-Yanez of Richland, died.
Investigators spoke to witnesses, including the man’s daughter who alleged that her father and her ex-boyfriend, a 35-year-old from California, were fighting, resulting in Garcia-Yanez being shot.
NonStop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.
Deputies searched the area but could not find the suspect, according to YCSO.
