RICHLAND, Wash. – The City of Richland started restoration and repair work on a section of Richland’ Riverfront Trail on Thursday, according to Richland Parks and Recreation.
The section is one of two sections that are scheduled for maintenance in the month of May.
A section of the WSU Tri-Cities North Richland Riverfront Trail near Sprout Street and behind the WSU Tri-Cities campus is being restored and repaved as of Thu., May 2. Last fall, the path was damaged by a wash out.
A detour that is pedestrian-friendly and a separate bike route are in place.
The Hains Street Levee Riverfront Trail will also see a detour starting May 13, as the City will remove asphalt, trees and roots and repave the trail. The half-mile section near Hains Street from Porters Real Barbecue to River Road will be closed for three to four weeks.
