PASCO, Wash. – The Pasco Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire that sent one to the hospital on Dec. 7.
According to a press release from Deputy Chief Tim Harkins with Pasco Fire, crews were dispatched at 4:06 p.m. to the 4900 block of Kennedy Way to a home showing visible smoke.
Crews on scene found the backyard patio on fire. The fire had managed to get into the home’s attic before crews extinguished the fire at 4:22 p.m.
A portion of the ceiling was removed to access the fire area in the attic and clear out the smoke. The home will need repairs before the occupants can return.
One person was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Pasco Fire Department.
