“Red Flag” weather warning issued throughout Eastern Washington

EASTERN, Wash.- Officials have issued a “Red Flag” or critical fire risk warnings throughout several eastern counties in Washington State.

According to the National Weather Service, the Red Flag Warning alerts residents to higher wind speeds, lower humidity, and hotter temperatures contributing to fire danger.

The National Weather Service Spokane has highlighted the following regions under the Red Flag advisory:

The NWS says people can prevent wildfires by safely discarding cigarettes, adhering to local burn bans, tying up loose chains, properly putting out campfires, and refraining from parking on dry grass.
