Reckless driving causes motorcycle crash in Yakima, 1 injured

YAKIMA, Wash. – UPDATE 10:33 p.m.

A press memo from the Washington State Patrol says one person was injured in the crash from Friday afternoon.

WSP says three vehicles were involved. A motorcyclist from Selah and a teen driver from Yakima were driving recklessly on I-82 heading westbound when the motorcyclist hit the third car around 5:38 p.m.

The motorcyclist was the only person injured. Both the motorcyclist and the teen driver are pending charges.

WSP says the cause is under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.

According to WSDOT, westbound I-82 is fully reopened in Yakima.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, a crash in Yakima is blocking the left lane of westbound I-82.

WSDOT’s Travel Center Map says traffic is currently “stop and go” from milepost 33 to milepost 34.5.
