WALLA WALLA, Wash.-A teenager is dead after a car crash after the Walla Walla County Fair on Aug. 31.
Deputies with the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Office and Medics with the Walla Walla Fire Department responded to the one car rollover crash on Middle Waitsburg Road at Chase Road around 11:52 p.m.
The car rolled several times and the driver, Sean Sollars, 18, was ejected, according to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office.
Sollars died at the scene and his next-of-kin has been notified. A Washington State Patrol collision tech helped with the investigation of the crash at the scene.
Sollars, who graduated from DeSales High School in June, was showing animals at the fair before the crash, according to a social media post from Walla Walla Catholic Schools.
School faculty attended the fair to provide support for students after the crash and various opportunities will be available throughout the week for the community to come together in remembrance of Sollars, according to WWCS.
Students, staff, family members and the community gathered at the site of the crash on the evening of Sept. 2 to remember Sollars.
