Ready to Race? Several runs planned around the region in June

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Warm weather, plenty of trails and beautiful scenery make the Yakima Valley and greater Tri-Cities area a great place to run. Over the next month there are plenty of opportunities to lace up the running shoes and join an organized race.

Upcoming regional races between June and the 4th of July.

Ellensburg:

Run Into Summer 5K. Saturday, June 1.Firecracker 5K. Thursday, July 4.

Yakima:

Wilridge Wine Run 5K. Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m.Dye Hard 5K. Saturday, June 29Central Washington Ag Museum’s Father’s Day 3.2K. Saturday, June 15 in Union Gap.

Sunnyside:

Healthy Kids Running Series-Lower Valley. June 2, 9 and 16.

Benton City:

Terra Blanca Wine Run 5K. Saturday, June 8 at 6 p.m.Benton City 4th of July 5K. Thursday, July 4.

Pasco:

Big River Run. Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 mile fun run in Chiawana Park on Saturday, June 1. Start times are staggered at 8 a.m., 8:15, 8:20 and 9:30.Camp Patriot 4th of July 5K/1 mile. Thursday, July 4 at 8 a.m. at Gesa Stadium.

Richland:

The Big Run. Free 5K for Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 5 at 6 p.m. at 620 George Washington Way.

Kennewick:

Royal Family Super Hero Fun Run. 10K, 5K and 1 mile run on Saturday, June 22.Zintel Canyon 4K. Saturday, June 29.

Hermiston:

Butte Challenge 5K and 10K. Saturday, June 1.
