RICHLAND, Wash. – The wait is almost over as a staple in the music industry in Richland was all set to re-open.
Ray Golden Lion started off as a restaurant in 1963 serving Mongolian and Chinese food. Talon Yager and Andrew McVay bought the space with the intention to re-open their favorite hang-out.
The two owners have put a lot of work into the business adding new artwork, a new food menu, new paint and so much more.
The owners said they were hoping to open on September 30th but a pipe burst and flooded the space causing the floor to be dug up to replace the pipe.
“We were on track to open September 30,” said Yager. “We had some plumbing issues that set us back a week. We’re still there, we still getting close.”
Yager said they are trying to get up and running with minimal show cancellations and might do some combined shows.
According to Yager they have all their licensing and permits to open, they just have to have the plumbing inspected.
Yager said he doesn’t want to put any promises out there but, if after the plumbing inspection is good to go, they will be ready to open with the goal of next week as a target.
