KENNEWICK, Wash. – On Sunday, the Tri-Cities’ biggest weekend of the year wrapped up. The boats had rooster tails flying as fans watched from the shorelines of Kennewick and Pasco.
The Tri-City Water Follies offered much more to do around Columbia Park in Kennewick.
There were plenty of things to do around the park for fans. Knockerball Tri-Cities, great food, and helicopter rides were back this year. Precision Aviation Solutions, an aviation company from Prosser, is owned by Darin and Jeanna Graybill.
Jeanna Graybill and her husband started the company six years ago. They offer many services, from surveying to local tours. Graybill said flying is a passion of hers and her husband.
“He wanted to fly a helicopter from the time he was a little boy,” Graybill said. “He’s worked his way up and made it happen.”
She said this is their second time attending Water Follies, and this year, they wanted to be a part of it. The Graybills got in touch with volunteers for the Water Follies to ask if they could offer helicopter rides. She said the Water Follies likes to work with local businesses, so they gave them the go-ahead.
“It’s really fun to be a part of a lot of peoples’ bucket list,” she said. “Very rarely do we have somebody come away from it and not enjoy it.”
The helicopter took off from the Columbia Park driving range, flying over the course on the Kennewick shoreline, past the Blue Bridge, turning to the Pasco shoreline, and back to the driving range.
Graybill said many people are nervous before the flight, but they’re all smiles afterward. She said they want to return next year and for years to come.
