ROSLYN, Wash. – The City of Roslyn Fire Department Association announced on Facebook that prescribed burn operations near Roslyn are starting on Wed., April 10.
The burning, planned by UKC Fuels, will take place on the Cle Elum Ridge above Roslyn over the next several weeks as weather and conditions allow.
Some trails are expected to close due to the burning, including Rat Pack Trail and possibly Paul’s Trail. Cle Elum Ridge Road may be affected as well.
The prescribed fire on the ridge will create smoke which will impact Roslyn and Cle Elum, especially in the early morning. Roslyn Fire recommends to close windows if you are sensitive to smoke.
The burns are part of the Cle Elum Ridge Fuels Reduction Project, an effort to mitigate wildfire threats in the Cle Elum valley.
