SELAH, Wash. – A power outage in Yakima and Selah is impacting a total of 6,200 customers, according to Pacific Power.
Pacific Power says the cause due to a “loss of transmission” and that crews are working to restore power.
The outage was confirmed by Pacific Power to be related to the wildfire at Harlan Landing. A representative said the outage is an “emergency de-energization,” meaning that crews shut off the power to prevent further damages.
The Selah Police Department is asking drivers to use all powerless traffic signals like a four way stop.
Pacific Power initially reported that nearly 14,000 customers were without power, however that number has been reduced to 6,200.
