YAKIMA, Wash. – According to a news release from the Yakima Police Department, a man was killed Wednesday morning after being hit by a car in Yakima.
YPD says officers were called to the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Tieton Drive at 7:07 a.m. to investigate a collision between a 74-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman in a car.
The man was reportedly crossing Tieton Drive on a crosswalk when the woman took a left turn from 72nd Avenue and hit the man.
The man was brought to Multicare Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
YPD is continuing to investigate the collision and says the crash did not involve drugs or alcohol. Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Jim Yates at 509-575-6246.
