RICHLAND, Wash. – Richland Police are investigating an assault with a shotgun that occurred at a popular park in Richland on Jan. 3.
According to a Facebook post from the Richland Police Department (RPD), officers were dispatched to 1180 Glenwood Court which is commonly referred to as “Top of The World Park” at 11:49 p.m. for reports of a victim struck in the head with the butt end of a shotgun.
The victim sustained a severe injury to their right ear from being struck.
The suspect’s vehicle was located with a shotgun inside later in a Yokes parking lot. The driver was alone and was booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of assault in the second degree.
Both the victim and suspect are adults.
