The Richland Police Department released a final update on Facebook about the found body, including the likely cause of death:
For clarification purposes, the Richland Police Department would like state that the cause of death in the case is most likely suicide. The Richland public is safe and we are not seeking any other individuals in connection to this case, at this time.

UPDATE 1:15 p.m. Jan. 5
Benton County Coroner Bill Leach has confirmed that Cassandra Hansen, whose body was found in a car at Leslie Groves Park on Jan. 4, did not drown.
RPD also confirmed to NonStop Local that it is not investigating anyone else for having caused her death.
UPDATE 7:51 p.m.
The Richland Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and that no other individuals are being searched for in relation to the death.
RPD says no other details can be provided at this time due to the investigation being open.

A body was found on Thursday in a parked car at Leslie Groves Park in Richland, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Dennis Morris.
Morris says the body is confirmed to be Cassandra Hansen who was reported missing the same day to the Richland Police Department.
Hansen’s husband also reported her missing in a Facebook post the same day.
The Benton County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy next week, according to Morris.
RPD says more information will be provided later on the case.
