RICHLAND, Wash. – The suspect in the Uptown Shopping Center shooting from Sat., Nov. 16 has been arrested, according to the Richland Police Department.

28-year-old Isiah Rodriguez was arrested in Portland on Thursday without incident. RPD Chief Martin Pilcher made the announcement at a press conference later that day at the RPD headquarters.

On Nov. 16 at around 4:15 a.m., RPD says a “confrontation” between two men in an alley at the Uptown Shopping Center resulted in one of the men, 36-year-old Michael Perkins, being shot multiple times by the other, Rodriguez.

Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures on Perkins but he died at the scene due to his injuries.

Rodriguez is charged with second degree murder, per a press release from RPD. Court documents say he is under $1 million bail.

Pilcher says the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Sergeant John Raby at 509-942-7713 and reference case number 24-048510.
