KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. –

The Washington State Patrol provided more information on the pickup truck fire in a press release.
WSP says the pickup truck driver was towing a trailer loaded with an excavator when his truck experienced an unknown mechanical issue at milepost 66 that caused it to catch fire.
The driver was able to escape the truck before it became fully engulfed in flames. No one else was in the truck.
WSP says the westbound lanes of I-90 were closed for two and a half hours.
UPDATE 9:28 p.m.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, westbound I-90 is now reopened.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Travel Center Map, westbound I-90 is fully blocked due to a pickup truck on fire.
The pickup truck fire is at milepost 66, four miles west of Easton. WSDOT says there is no estimated time for the roadway to reopen.
