These mind-bending photos show guests walking on ceilings and floating in mid-air at a brand-new museum.

The Museum of Illusions, which opens its doors in Manchester tomorrow (Fri), promises to leave visitors ‘questioning their senses’ with their eye-catching exhibits.

The striking pictures reveal how guests appear to be defying the laws of physics thanks to an array of different optical tricks built into its displays.

The Manchester branch of the international museum features nods to the northern city’s heritage, such as an illusion based around one of its trams.

In total, there are over 65 exhibits ranging from simple wall-mounted optical illusions to immersive experiences that ‘challenge both mind and body’.

Steven Buchan, general manager at the Museum of Illusions, said: “Manchester is a city known for its innovation and creativity, and we’re thrilled to bring the Museum of Illusions to such a dynamic location.

“Our goal is to offer a space where visitors of all ages can explore the wonders of perception, engage with immersive exhibits, and experience the joy of being delightfully tricked by the eye. We can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors alike to experience the magic for themselves.”
