PASCO, Wash.-Pasco City Councilmember and newly elected Mayor Pete Serrano has announced his candidacy for state Attorney General.
Serrano was elected Mayor of Pasco at the City Council meeting on Jan. 2., the same day he announced his candidacy for the Attorney General’s Office online and in a youtube video.
According to a City of Pasco press release, Serrano has served on the City Council since 2018 he is an attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy and an adjunct professor at WSU Tri-Cities.
Serrano released a statement announcing his candidacy for state Attorney General on his website, which read in part:
As Washington’s next Attorney General I will make it my number one job to ensure criminals are prosecuted, drug dealers are incarcerated and our police officers know the state’s top cop has their back.
Serrano is running as a Republican.
