TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Snowfall is impacting traffic around the region, with several crashes and road closures in both Oregon and Washington.
I-82 south of the Tri-Cities is now open after being blocked due to a crash. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the road is now reopened at milepost 114 near the Horse Heaven Hills.
The Washington State Patrol is currently on the scene of multiple crashes around the area, including the one on I-82 and Dallas Rd. and is encouraging drivers to slow down when snow is on the road.
US 12 near Walla Walla is also now closed, according to WSDOT due to multiple crashes blocking the road. The road is closed in both directions from milepost 343 to 344. A detour is in place through local roads.
According to Walla Walla Fire District 8, the highway is closed west of Spring Creek Rd and the detour is through Smith Rd to Sapolil Rd. The closure is expected to last for hours.
In Oregon the eastbound lanes of I-84 are closed about seven miles east of Pendleton to La Grande due to extreme weather conditions, including blowing snow.
According to Trip Check, several car spin-outs have been reported and the closure, which extends from milepost 216 to milepost 265, is expected to last for several hours.
