PASCO, Wash. – The Port of Pasco announced in a press release on Wednesday that the Tri-Cities Airport will increase its daily parking rates starting in March.
The Port of Pasco voted on Wednesday, Dec. 10 to increase the rates in an effort to fund airport capital improvements.
It will help pay for over $2 million in parking lot improvements coming in 2024 along with other long-term improvement projects that will cost around $140 million over the next 10 to 12 years.
Starting March 1, airport parking rates will be:
$12 per day for long-term and credit card lots (currently $10 per day)$16 per day for short-term lot (currently $13 per day)$2 per hour for hourly parking lot with first 25 minutes free (unchanged)
“The Tri-Cities Airport doesn’t collect local property taxes and operates solely on revenue generated by airport users,” said Airport Director Buck Taft. “This is important because we don’t want Franklin County residents to have to subsidize the airport with their property taxes. The increased parking rates will ensure that the airport can continue to be self-sustaining and to pay for critical improvements.”
The last time the Port of Pasco voted to raise parking rates was 2017. The new rates can be compared to other airports in the Pacific Northwest which range from $10 to $15 per day for long-term parking and $14 to $27 per day for short-term parking.
