PASCO, Wash. – Fire crews contained a large pallet fire in East Pasco on Monday, according to the Pasco Fire Department.

A large pillar of smoke is visible from the fire at Tri-City Pallets at 335 E. B Circle near Highway 12.

According to PFD, the fire was contained to pallets at the business and no structures were threatened.

Some high tension power lines were dropped due to the fire but no power outages were reported.

Crews from Walla Walla County Fire District 5, Franklin County Fire Districts 3 and 5, Benton County Fire Districts 1, 2 and 4 and the Kennewick Fire Department were called to the fire.

A nearby home was threatened by embers from the fire, however PFD says FCFD3 kept it from burning.

There are reportedly about 60 to 70,000 pallets at the business, according to PFD, however it is unknown how many were involved in the fire.

The fire is expected to smoke for the next few days and crews will remain at the fire throughout.
